It's party season again folks, and even Canberra is fired up!...
The days are longer, the beers are colder and everyone's got that look in their eyes. That's right, it's summer in the southern hemisphere and we're not wasting any time!
Naturally with all this good weather the festivals are hitting town, the first of which myself and LDK were fortunate enough to catch last weekend. Stonefest at the University of Canberra, it's name has something to do with the laying of the first stone of the university or something... hrmm... whatever... Basically it boils down to a drunken 2-day festival, exhibiting the best of electronic music on friday night followed by a rock-n-roll romp on the saturday (not to mention lots of young uni girls out on the prowl in t-shirts with stupid slogans printed on them.. yum). This year's lineup was somewhat surprising tho.
Friday night we were graced with the presence of Regurgitator... a band that we hadn't heard from in quite some time, I think I speak for both LDK and myself when I say we were impressed.. they churned out the classics, which is probably what most people wanted to hear, I don't recall hearing any new songs but I could be wrong.... I'm no expert on the 'gurge.. The rest of the night was a mess of beats/breaks and booze, had a great time but don't remember paying too much attention to anymore acts that night.

The saturday was decidedly less popular with the punters, I assume this had something to do with the debauchery of night before, the people that did make it out looked pale and a little past it... not that that affected the atmosphere any. Saw Cog, almost fell asleep watching them... methinks they are overrated, 'nuff said. The Mark of Cain brought a tear to my eye, they might be old fellas but they still rock hard, in true Adelaide style (even tho they relocated to Melbourne... we still love 'em).

Stay tuned for more stallion summer news, next week is Metal For The Brain, LDK and I will be on the scene once again as official CIH Stallions correspondents...

For FUCK'S sake, finally.
Is it really summer there? Really? It's just turning into winter ovaheeeaha. Funny how different things are on the complete other end of the hemisphere, not only are the seasons reversed but your toilets spin funny.
P.S. Urge Overkill are amazing, even though their lead singer looks like a cross between Lou Reed in the throes of heroin addiction and Weird Al. But I digress. Lucky you.
